XPR micro and ultra-microbalances are used to accurately weigh the smallest of samples. These balances are used in product testing, pharmaceutical, quality assurance labs, chemistry labs and mining to measure small amounts of powders and minerals.
Micro and ultra-microbalance applications include:

When a high level of accuracy is required for weighing very small samples, METTLER TOLEDO’S microbalances provide a six decimal place readability (1 µg) while the ultra-microbalances provide a seven decimal place readability (0.1 µg). These balances feature a highly sensitive weighing cell, a secondary inner draft shield, and a smaller hanging weighing pan.
Microbalances
Microbalances are ideal for weighing rare, precious or potent substances, since only a very small amount is required, ensuring safety and economy. The XPR microbalances are designed with a separation of the electronics from the weighing cell to protect the sample. The Active Temperature Control (ATC™) system ensures that the temperature inside the chamber remains the same as the outside, for accuracy.
Ultra-microbalances
Ultra-microbalances achieve extreme accuracy with a top–level weighing cell, offering a capacity of 6.1 g and a minimum sample weight of 30 µg or 0.03 mg.
